Submitting valid documents for address verification is a key part of keeping your Midnite account secure and compliant with regulatory requirements. If your documents are being rejected, it usually means they don’t meet one or more of our verification criteria. To avoid delays and ensure your submission is successful, it’s important to understand the most common reasons for rejection and how to provide a clear, acceptable proof of address.

Common Reasons for Document Rejection

1. Incorrect Document Format

  • Screenshots, scans, or photocopies are not accepted.

  • Submit original PDF files downloaded directly from your provider, or high-quality photos showing the full document.

  • Do not edit or crop the image—ensure all four corners are clearly visible.

2. Poor Image Quality

  • Blurry, dark, or obstructed photos (e.g., glare, fingers covering text) will be rejected.

  • Make sure you’re in a well-lit area, clean your camera lens, and place the document on a flat surface when taking the photo.

3. Mismatched Account Information

  • The name and address on your document must exactly match the details on your Midnite account.

  • Documents with nicknames, abbreviations, or different spellings will not be accepted.

4. Outdated Documents

  • Documents must be dated within the last 90 days. In some cases, we may request documents dated within the past 30 or even 9 days.

  • Always check the document date before uploading.

Accepted Document Types

Midnite accepts the following as valid proof of address:

  • Utility bills (excluding mobile phone or insurance bills)

  • Bank statements

  • Council Tax letters

  • Government-issued tax documents

To be accepted, documents must:

  • Clearly display your full name and address

  • Be dated within the last 90 days (or more recently if specified)

  • Be in original PDF format or a high-quality photo showing all corners

How to Submit Your Documents Successfully

  • Use the Original Source: Download your proof of address directly from your bank or service provider in PDF format.

  • Check for Clarity: Make sure every part of the document is sharp and easy to read.

  • Match Your Account Details: Confirm your name and address on the document match your Midnite profile.

  • Submit Through the Right Channel: Upload your documents via the Midnite Verification Page or email them to support if directed.
