🎯 General Rules

What types of horse racing events does Midnite offer?

Midnite offers horse racing from all tracks in the UK and Ireland, as well as selected tracks in Europe, the US, and other parts of the world.

How are bets settled?

All bets are settled according to the official result and "weigh in." An exception is the "first past the post" rule, where Midnite pays out on both the official result and the horse that crossed the finish line first in UK and Ireland races. This does not apply to international horse racing.

Can I void a horse racing bet?

Currently, Midnite does not allow customers to void horse racing bets. Please ensure accuracy when placing your bets.

⚠️ Palpable Errors

What happens if there's an obvious pricing error?

If Midnite publishes a price for a horse that is an obvious error, whether human or technical, they reserve the right to void bets at the incorrect price and settle at the correct comparable industry price at the time of bet placement. Additionally, if a race has not been suspended and is still available to bet on after the outcome is known, all bets (win or lose) will be voided.

🚫 Non-Runners & Withdrawals

What is a non-runner, and how are such bets handled?

A non-runner is a selection that does not come under starter's orders. Non-runners are settled as void, and stakes are returned on single bets. In multiple bets, the non-runner is settled as void, and all remaining selections count for settlement purposes. For example, a treble (3 selections) with a non-runner becomes a double on the remaining 2 selections. This also applies to system bets like a Yankee. Selections in walkovers are treated as non-runners and made void in all single and multiple bets. In the event of a false start, any horse that does not take part in the re-run of the race will also be made void, and stakes returned.

πŸ“… Abandoned or Postponed Races

What happens if a race is abandoned or postponed?

Bets are void if the race is abandoned, declared void, entries change, race conditions change (venue/surface), or if 48-hour declarations do not stand. If a race is rescheduled to another day and declarations stand (the race is not reopened), all bets will stand.

πŸ† Bet Types

What is a win bet?

A win bet means your selection must win for you to receive winnings.

What is an each-way bet?

An each-way bet consists of two parts: the win part and the place part, each with an equal stake. For example, a Β£5 each-way bet will cost a total of Β£10. If your selection wins, you receive winnings from both parts. If your selection is placed (but doesn't win), you receive winnings from the place part, based on the each-way terms that apply to that race.

What are the standard each-way place terms?

The each-way terms depend on the number of runners and the type of race:

  • 1–4 runners: Win only (no each-way bets allowed)

  • 5–7 runners: ΒΌ the win odds for 2 places (1st and 2nd)

  • 8+ runners in a non-handicap race: β…• the win odds for 3 places (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)

  • 8–11 runners in a handicap race: β…• the win odds for 3 places (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)

  • 12–15 runners in a handicap: ΒΌ the win odds for 3 places (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)

  • 16+ runners in a handicap: ΒΌ the win odds for 4 places (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th)

Currently, Midnite does not offer place terms outside of these default terms.

🎁 Extra Places Promotion

What is the Extra Places promotion?

Extra Places is a promotion offered on selected races, meaning that Midnite will pay out an extra place than the standard terms on each-way bets. For example, if your horse finishes 4th in an extra places race where usually only 3 places are paid, the place part of your each-way bet will still be paid out.

How do non-runners affect Extra Places?

In the event of a non-runner, extra place concessions are liable to change or be withdrawn, as the odds of a horse placing will have changed. The concession will be based on the number of runners as per the terms of Midnite's concessions.
