π― General Rules
What types of horse racing events does Midnite offer?
Midnite offers races from all tracks in the UK and Ireland, plus selected tracks in Europe, the US, and other regions.
How are bets settled?
Bets are settled based on the official result and weigh-in.
UK & Ireland: The βfirst past the postβ rule applies β payout is made on both the official result and the horse that crosses the finish line first.
International races: This rule does not apply.
Can I void a horse racing bet?
Unfortunately, horse racing bets cannot be voided once placed. Please take a moment to double-check your selections before confirming your bet to avoid any mistakes.
β οΈ Palpable Errors
What happens if there's an obvious pricing error?
If Midnite publishes an obvious error (human or technical), bets may be voided or settled at the correct industry price at the time of placement.
If a race remains available after the outcome is known, all bets (win or lose) will be voided.
π« Non-Runners & Withdrawals
What is a non-runner, and how are bets handled?
A non-runner is a horse that does not start the race.
Single bets: Stake returned.
Multiple bets: Non-runner is void, remaining selections still count
Example: A treble with 3 selections and 1 non-runner becomes a double
System bets: Treated similarly (e.g., Yankee).
Walkovers & false starts: Horses not running in a re-run are voided; stakes returned.
π
Abandoned or Postponed Races
What happens if a race is abandoned or postponed?
Bets are void if:
Race is abandoned or declared void
Entries change
Race conditions change (venue or surface)
48-hour declarations do not stand
If a race is rescheduled without reopening declarations, all bets stand.
π Bet Types
Win bet
Your selection must win to receive a payout.
Each-way bet
Consists of two equal parts: win and place.
Example: Β£5 each-way = Β£10 total stake
Win: payout from both parts
Place: payout only from the place part based on race terms
Standard each-way place terms
Runners | Race Type | Place Terms |
1β4 | Any | Win only (no EW bets) |
5β7 | Any | ΒΌ win odds for 2 places |
8+ | Non-handicap | 1/5 win odds for 3 places |
8β11 | Handicap | 1/5 win odds for 3 places |
12β15 | Handicap | ΒΌ win odds for 3 places |
16+ | Handicap | ΒΌ win odds for 4 places |
Midnite does not offer place terms outside these defaults.
π Extra Places Promotion
What is the Extra Places promotion?
On selected races, Midnite pays out an extra place on each-way bets.
Example: If your horse finishes 4th in a 3-place race, the place part is still paid.
How do non-runners affect Extra Places?
Extra place concessions may change or be withdrawn if a horse is a non-runner, as odds and placements adjust according to the number of runners.
